Hamaki-Ho Jackets

The sports coat and the blazer can be a misunderstood area of men’s fashion, and the Spring Summer 2014 jackets from Hamaki-Ho, fall in between the two.  Sports coats or sports jackets are traditionally, despite being similar in style to a suit jacket, made from a fabric other than the wool usually used for a formal suit.  Often this can be tweed, corduroy or suede and thus lends itself to more casual occasions.  The blazer is one step up in formality from the sports coat, but still more casual than... Hugo Boss Juri Shirts

For the past few seasons at our Hatters store we have had the increasingly popular Hugo Boss Juri shirts which feature a contrast geo print trim. The style has a pointed collar making it ideal to wear with a tie in more formal  settings while the trim adds is a nice touch to a plain shirt in casual situations. They are made from 100% breathable cotton and have a special finish which allows for an easy iron while being machine washable. The white with the navy trim shown is not... Read More

Lacoste Polo Shirt Selection

French sports label Lacoste is a European institution, the little crocodile (not alligator) logo nodding subtly to the brand, on polo shirts, jumpers and accessories alike.  Being around 80 years old, they know how to make clothes with quality and always bring a freshness to their collection in terms of colour and design, rarely fussy and always functional.  The pick of this season is their polo shirt range, which was incorporated into their Eau de Lacoste fragrance advertising last year.  The selection of colours used really screams summer and gives... Paul Smith Baubles 2013

I was waiting until we got a bit nearer to December before even mentioning the festive period and it’s associated obligations.  But our most Christmas oriented items are selling out and they’re rather special, so my hand has been forced to the keyboard.  For a few years now Paul Smith’s Accessories label has got into the Christmas spirit with a festive Paul Smith bauble in a range of designs, including stripes and swirls in the multi stripe colours.  I’ve been told by the boys in the shop that this season... 2013 Serge DeNimes

Last year at Jonathan Trumbull, we started stocking t-shirts by the exciting new label Serge DeNimes.  The contemporary brand founded by Oliver Proudlock in 2011, offers original, urban t-shirts of the highest quality. Serge DeNimes name relates to the origin of Denim: a sturdy fabric called serge, made in Nîmes, France, by the André family. Originally called serge de Nîmes, the name was soon shortened to denim. The brand’s first line was inspired by a series of photographs, taken in 1978 by prominent photographers Douglas Villiers and Oliver’s mother, Lena Proudlock , which... Read More

New Esemplare SS13

We at Jonathan Trumbull & Hatters try and introduce new labels as often as we see something that takes our fancy, and the coming season is no exception.  Come the Spring Summer 2013 season we will be stocking  Esemplare N° 61, an Italian label from designer Alessandro Pungetti who used to be head of design at CP Company, the offshoot label from Stone Island.  The influence of that history can be seen in the Esemplare collection, a few previews of which are shown below.  We’re excited about how the collection fits in...
