The heritage knitwear company Alan Paine, whose roots date back to 1907, have reached into their rich history and taken inspiration from their connection with mountaineer George Mallory.  The explorer extraordinaire was wearing Alan Paine on his fateful last ascent of Mount Everest when he disappeared.   That was in 1924 and it wasn’t for another 75 years in 1999 that his body was found.  The sweater in his kit bag was from W.F.Paine, 72 High Street, Godalming, the location of the first Alan Paine shop.   We are carrying the Rossendale and Snowdon knitwear from the...
