The contemporary brand founded by Oliver Proudlock in 2011, offers original, urban t-shirts of the highest quality. Serge DeNimes name relates to the origin of Denim: a sturdy fabric called serge, made in Nîmes, France, by the André family. Originally called serge de Nîmes, the name was soon shortened to denim. The Vendée Globe is yacht race that takes place every four years, regarded by many as the ultimate ocean sailing challenge. Starting and finishing in French seaside town Les Sables-d’Olonne, the race traces a path around the globe past the Cape of Good Hope and around Antartica past Cape Horn and back to France. Taking part this year, and in past races, is the Hugo Boss sponsored boat skippered single-handedly by Alex Thomson.
This weeks Made In Chelsea has again featured some classic items from Ralph Lauren’s polo range, a favourite at Jonathan Trumbull & Hatters. The heritage knitwear company Alan Paine, whose roots date back to 1907, have reached into their rich history and taken inspiration from their connection with mountaineer George Mallory. The explorer extraordinaire was wearing Alan Paine on his fateful last ascent of Mount Everest when he disappeared. That was in 1924 and it wasn’t for another 75 years in 1999 that his body was found.
