Latest Oliver Sweeney

Oliver Sweeney shoes have starred at our Jonathan Trumbull store for over a decade and the collection for 2013 is just as exciting and engaging as ever.  We’ve selected three designs to concentrate on for a blog post to draw your attention to Sweeney’s latest direction.

First the Picolit in tan leather and beige suede.  The Picolit is a popular design in the style of an Oxford brogue, featuring the pointed sole shape typical of Oliver Sweeney shoes.  The two-tone and dual material uppers provide the protection of leather with the luxury and tactile finish of suede.  A splash of brogue on the toe, and around the material join, finish off the look in a way that references a classic historical look in a contemporary way.

Picolit Tan ShoeNext the Modena slip on in navy.  Shoes in blue is one of the trends we have seen from man of our labels and Oliver Sweeney‘s take on this is just as stylish as you’d expect.  The Modena slip on shoe has a mock lizard print to give an opulent look at no environmental cost.

Modena Navy ShoeLastly the wholecut Vear lace up in grey.  A wholecut shoe is constructed from a single piece of leather, crafted around the last into a shoe with one join, at the heel.  This artful technique produces a flawless finish, undiluted by seams, leaving room for subtle detailing like the brogue at the front and two lace eyelets.  The Vear in grey is a beautiful dress shoe  with a hand inserted sole.
